HAPPY NEW YEAR

Greetings from a cold and freezing north! It is still white here, and colder weather and more snow forecast. I have not got any cards to show, as I did not take any of my stash with me, as I thought I would not have time to craft. I wish I did now! I am passing time by playing WII, guitar hero, and watching all the latest kids movies.
We are having guests this evening which I am looking forward to. I thought I would just take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year. I hope that 2009 brings health and happiness to all. And for many of us, the opportunity to put 2008 behind us! TC all

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..... It has been snowing all day and the Christmas feeling is ooooooozing through the door! We have come up country to our holiday home, and I am soooo enjoying the time off! Yesterday, the boys and I went off to our forest looking for a Christmas tree, and then chopped it down and dragged it home. It's now taken pride of place in the lounge now, and although its a bit skew...it looks lovely! This morning we got up early and went and did a big food shop, and I have started preparing all the trimmings for Christmas. My OH arrives tomorrow night and hopefully we will be all systems go. If time allows, I will shoot some more snowy pictures and share my white christmas with you all! TC and have a wonderful Christmas where ever you are. Jillx

I've been tagged!

I've been tagged by Scoops, HAHA, and i don't know how to do all the technichal stuff! LOL So imagine there is a big blue "7" about here, and then I have to tell you 7 intresting things about myself. Then I have to pass it on to 7 people....but I don't know how to do that either! So all you blogg geniuses out there...HELP!!!
My seven things.....
1. I was born in South Africa, and am married to a Finn, and speak Swedish.
2. I have a 16 year old cat called Stinky. (well I love her to bits so it must be of intrest to someone!)
3. I have been crafting one way or another for years, but got into card making a few years ago.
4. The internet has played a HUGE part in my life. As my family are spread all round the world, we are all connected to Skype, so I "see" them regularly.
5. My OH has recently invested in a shop, a builders merchant and hardware. I spend a lot of time there now, which restricts my computer time.... now thats not fair! LOL
6. I am a foodie and LOVE to eat. (that explains my weight!)
7. I am the proud mother of four little terrors, all boys.
Right, OK so I am NOT that intresting, but what can you expect.....
Please someone help me pass this on!

Last of all is Edwin! Hé is so cute on his skis. The paper is FF and the snowflakes are punched, and cuttlebugged. The heart is nesties. Sentiment is Magnolia.
Well, thats me for now. Counting the minutes till bedtime. I hope you all have a good week! TC

And here is Lucia! The backing paper is from Forever friends and I used my new Nesties heart. I am a wee bit diappointed with the hearts as the do not stack without over lapping, but used singularly, they are fine. Tilda is of course Magnolia as is the sentiment. I have coloured her with a gel pen, to really bring out the red. The lingonberry wreath is also coloured with gel pens, and her face is distressed. The leaves are from sizzex and I have thrown the packaging away from the flowers so I cant remember wha they are called.

Hello again

It's winter in Nagu!!! We are at the start of a heavy snow storm, with the eye to hit at around midnight. We are expecting half a metre of snow. It is already blowing gales outside. The tummy bug hit us again, this time, OH had it on Saturday, and Kimi got it today. This has caused me to stay at home all weekend. WHAT A PLEASURE! Got some cards made, baked, made a lovely oxtail stew today and grilled salmon yesterday.
As you can see, I have been trying my new Tilda stamps. This is from the winter stampclub and the back ground is silent night by magnolia. They are coloured with Distress inks. The pointsettia is a dimensional sticker from Anitas, and a bit of gold ribbon from my stash.

ANOTHER NEW BABY

Just a quick post today, as it is already my bedtime! A good friend of mine had a baby today, and I made this card for her. It is the baby from Magnolia, Tilda, but cant remember his name!! I have coloured him with Distress and polychromos. He is sitting on a piece of ribbon, I bought about 100 years ago from Panduro. It is matted on white then blue bling from Bazzil, and the name is cut out using a cuttlekids alphabet. I have also stamped and coloured the image onto shrink plastic, with the baby's details on it, and made a phone charm! Well I thought it was cute! It only took me four attempts! LOL. Weather wise.. we had a slight sprinkling of snow in the night...SLIGHT being the operative word! LOL Oh well, at least my Dad can say in all honesty, that he saw snow in Finland. However, there is snow forecast for the weekend! Imust be off, I DONT miss out on sleep for anything or anyone! LOL TC all and HUGS!!

Me again!

Hello from a cold and stormy Finland. I feel so guilty that I am not able to post much at the moment, but life is still hectic this side of the world. My little one came down with a tummy bug yesterday evening, so it was a sleepless night, and now the second one, is sitting perched on the edge of his bed with his face in a bucket. The joys of having four kids.... I hope I dont get it!!!
I thought I would post my weekends efforts. I have not had much time to craft, but today I made the time, as I feel that I have so much stuff, I owe it to myself to use it. The first card, Tilda and Edwin skating is from the new stamp club. I have coloured it with distress inks and matted it on coredinations. I am loving this coredinations, I have never had so many colours of co ordinating card before, well worth the investment!! The backing paper is Papermania, the sentiment is computer generated and the snowflakes are sizzix and a green punch. The ribbon I picked up at the supermarket on Saturday, with the Christmas wrapping paper. (well I picked up more than one........) LOL.
The second one is from the Pink Tilda collection. Paper is Papermania, vellum, Papermania, the flower is from a jar by Dutch moments, the leaf and sirwls are sizzix. The tag I got from a very kind lady in Sweden called Susanne.
Well, I guess I should go and check on my patients...I feel ANOTHER sleepless night ahead. Take care all

No cards!

Greetings from afar! No cards to show, but I thought I would just pop on before going to bed! Its getting rather chilly this corner of the planet. Starting to scrape the ice regularly in the mornings now! I have had no time to craft, I am working every hour of the day. I am beginning to forget what my kids look like!!! The only reason that I am allowing myself to do this is because I am taking nearly three weeks off at Christmas, and we will spend the time together as a family. My Dad arrives from South Africa on Saturday, and I am counting the days. I miss him so much! We dont have much family left in SA any more, and I do worry about my parents. It will be good to spend time with him again. However- even less card making! LOL
Well I just wanted to wish you all well. Hope you are all safe, well and happy! Take care,
Jillx

MALE CARDS

Hallo to my faithful followers (far and few between!) LOL Well, see, I HAVE been making cards! I just seem to send them off before I get round to scanning them. It is Fathers Day in Finland next weekend, so I have made a few cards, to put in a box at OHs shop. Most of them are super simple using the new forever friends stickers. The "wallpapering" one is just a sheet of the backing paper. The golfing ones are George downloads. I am so upset because I desperately want the new set of downloads, with builder George on it, but the shop will not accept my credit card, DESPITE emailing them. GRRRRR...
I am officially on two weeks sick leave, although I will have to go back to work next week. I am a diabetic, and my sugar has decided to go on a roller coaster ride. Going to have about a million tests tomorrow to see if they can find out why. Oh well, there is no getting rid of me that easily...
Have a good evening all!

penny black

Greetings from a very wet and stormy Nagu! We have had the mother of all storms in the night, and woke up with no electricity. FORTUNATELY, I was clever enough to fill a thermos will hot water last night, so I at least got a cuppa. Not that it was HOT, but it was better than nothing! Since then, the power has gone on and off about 10 times!
Above is a quick card that I made for my mothers birthday. I find her hard to make for, but she likes cats. The colouring is no too good, but I tried to match the colours to her cat. It is a pennyblack stamp, and sentiment, stamped onto plain white card, and the blue card is from the new coredinations (which I will be ordering more of!!!) The background paper is papermanias oriental paper.
Apart from this card, I have made another six this weekend, simple forever friends stickers. I will upload them as soon as.....
Have a great Sunday, whatever you do

Edwin

Finally, a card! I am alive! Just been so busy this last week, I have worked around the clock and I am exhausted. I finally found a bit of time yesterday to make a card. It is Fathers day in Finland in November.
I have used a Magnolia Edwin which I found in my stash UNUSED!!!! He is coloured with distresses but I did not get the shading on his top quite right. The backing paper and the letter tiles are both from papermania. The ribbon and button are from my stash.
I hope you have a good week!

Here she is again

This is the second one, although I think I have uploaded them in the wrong order! LOL. I have coloured her with distress inks, embossed and distressed a swiss dots card, placed that on a wallpaper sample. The flowers are made with nesties, and gold brads from stash. I made the little envelope and distressed that too, and the tag is a sizzix with gold band from my stash.
Thanks for looking (if anybody actually did) LOL. Get the feeling I am waffling to myself here!

Tilda hugs

Hallo all, I 've been busy! My OH is away for four days, so I have been making cards. I have loads of new Christmas stuff, but Have made no other normal cards for ages. So my goal is to get something other than Christmas done. I have been stocking up on my "male" cards as well, got five "George" cards in the box.
Here is my first Tilda for today. I have used Tilda with straw, but changed it to lavender. I have stamped onto normal card (I usually use watercolour paper) and then used Papermanias elegant paper. Under that is an old piece of velum that I stamped with some swirls in gold, not that you can see them. The pearls are from my stash. The flowers I have made using nesties and a punch, using the same backing paper for the pink. The centre pink flower is a prima. I have also used pink papermania gems in the flowers.

NEW BABY

Greetings again. Well since last time, I became an Aunty! My sister had a little (large) boy on Monday, and I made this Tilda card for her. I have coloured him with watercolour pencils, mounted onto blue glitter card. The white circle is two Nesties inside each other, on a white Cuttlebug Swiss dots card. The little feet were bought in SA years ago, and the ribbon is from Panduro. The little alphabet beads are from my stash and say James.
